Ross School was founded in 1991 by Courtney and Steven J. Ross, who recognized that preparing students to meet the challenges of an increasingly connected and rapidly changing world requires innovative models to transform education. Drawing on pedagogical research from leading education experts, the Ross Model incorporates a global perspective with integrated, hands-on learning and active problem solving.
Ross School is accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) and Middle States Association Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA), and was awarded the first International Credential ever given by MSA. MSA has also recognized Ross as a Program of Distinction in Global Literacies.
Ross School’s campus is located in East Hampton, New York in the United States. It is less than three hours from New York City, located on beautiful Long Island in Suffolk County. The campus embraces the stunning beauty of its surroundings: vast forests, sprawling farmland, and miles of gorgeous, white sand, ocean beaches. Ross School is the only non-profit private school for Nursery through Grade 12 on the Eastern End of Long Island.
For the 2021-2022 academic year, Ross School has approximately 365 students, 90 of which belong to the boarding program. Over 85% of students in Ross School’s boarding program are international students—currently representing 23 different countries. Ross School has a very tight-knit community that is simultaneously representative of a global population. Ross School instills a genuine respect for all people, cultures, languages, and backgrounds in its students from the beginning.

Approximately 35% of the students receive need-based financial aid, and throughout its history, Ross School has awarded more than $30 million in aid.
The school is home to original art, fine reproductions, and artifacts from all over the world, as well as advanced technology, a dining area with a view of the treetops, and well-equipped and versatile spaces for performing arts, science, visual arts, media, and sports spread across two sprawling campuses in East Hampton and Bridgehampton, New York.
