The University of Bridgeport (UB or UBPT) is a private university in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The university is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education. Founded originally as the Junior College of Connecticut, it is the only university in Bridgeport and one of the largest in Connecticut. The university offers more than 60 degree programs to over 5,000 students at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. This includes the only naturopathy and Chinese medicine programs in Connecticut, one of two, along with University of Connecticut, medical laboratory sciences programs in Connecticut, and the only chiropractic school on the East Coast.
